Huangshan is connected by high-speed rail to Shanghai and Hangzhou. The first day begins at Yanyu Bookhouse in the countryside of Yi County, where visitors can spend time reading and sample Huangshan Yunwu tea. The itinerary then continues to Hongcun, a UNESCO World Heritage village, for a walk by South Lake and its bridge. The village was among the filming locations for Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon. Travelers stay overnight at a guesthouse in Yi County.

On day two, visitors head to the Huangshan Scenic Area. After taking a cable car up the mountain, they can see the Welcoming Guest Pine and explore the West Sea Grand Canyon, known for its rock formations, gorges and views of the sea of clouds. The route includes an overnight stay on the mountain, with time to see the sunset, stars and sunrise the following morning, weather permitting.

Day three takes travelers down the mountain to Xixinan, where a grove of Chinese wingnut trees and the Fengle River frame the historic village. In the evening, the itinerary includes a visit to Huashan World, an attraction that combines ancient grottoes with digital light installations. Travelers stay overnight in Tunxi District.

On the final day, visitors walk a section of the Huikai Ancient Trail near Yucun in Xiuning County. Its stone paths pass through bamboo groves and woodland along a route associated with the journeys of Huizhou merchants.

The itinerary is provided as a suggested route. Travelers can adjust the stops and timing to suit their plans.
